I am so saddened by news of Michael Jackson's passing yesterday. I know this is a blog predominantly about my weightloss and fitness journey, but this effects me and as such is part of this journey.
I am a huge fan of Michael Jackson's music. I know that some of you will disagree with me posting this blog in tribute to MJ but we are all entitled to our own opinions and "my blog, my rules". I realize that there was a lot of controversy surrounding what was indeed a troubled life, however, his talent was and remains undeniable. His music reached so many and transcended so many barriers. Michael Jackson was one of the most widely beloved and recognized entertainers in the world and probably one of the most influential artists of all-time. He leaves an indelible imprint on popular music and culture; one for which we may never see again in our lifetime. His legacy will live on forever!
Michael's music helped me to get through two of the most difficult times in my life. I have a lot of memories associated with his writings and songs, so for that I say, " THANK YOU and rest in peace, Michael Jackson - may you find the peace an comfort in death that you did not have in life."
I feel like I should say so much more, but I just don't have the words, so once again, I go to his music for comfort.
This is a song by Michael Jackson and I just find it's so fitting to end this post with it. If you'd like to hear this song, scroll through the playlist on the Ipod icon on the right.
Gone To Soon
Like a comet
Blazing 'cross the evening sky
Gone too soon
Like a rainbow
Fading in the twinkling of an eye
Gone too soon
Shiny and sparkly
And splendidly bright
Here one day
Gone one night
Like the loss of sunlight
On a cloudy afternoon
Gone too soon
Like a castle
Built upon a sandy beach
Gone too soon
Like a perfect flower
That is just beyond your reach
Gone too soon
Born to amuse,
to inspire, to delight
Here one day
Gone one night
Like a sunset
Dying with the rising of the moon
Gone too soon
Gone too soon
Until next time...

I hear you Joania, it's a sad day indeed and he is gone too soon.
We'll seek confort in his songs. May he rest in peace forever.

The pics are coming...my photographer has been really busy lately.
I was stunned yesterday with the news. I was in awe of Michael and his incredible talent.
Very nice post. I usually turn off the music players on blogs I read, but I just couldn't this time. Love his voice.
LOVE this entry
I thought I was gonna marry him!!! Thanks for the music - a little teary eyed this morning
@ Sean - thanks. I'm usually give people the option to play/mute music but for this week, I think I'm just going to let Michael sing.
@Shannon - I married him so many times in my dream...he was wearing the white suit he wore on the Thriller album lol!!
I have cried so many times over this man's death as if he was a loved one:( Like you, a few past experiences are linked to his music. The world will never be blessed which such an irreplaceable talent such as MJ. R.I.P.:(
